What brush to use on wet curly hair?

I've been in transitioning process of relaxed hair to all natural. My hair is almost there, it is majority curly besides the ends of my top layer. My stylist recommended that I use a boar bristle brush because it is good on hair. When I tried to use a boar bristle brush to blow dry my hair it seems to make my hair frizzy and sometimes gets tangled in my hair. Is it the way I'm brushing my hair? Is it the type? What should I use to blow dry my hair?
