Did I lose the argument or not?

Wife and i were arguing about something and in the middle of the argument I realized I was wrong. At that moment my dog came into the room and I turned to the dog and said, "What Timmy fell down the well!!" and then I ran out of the house. My wife chased after me and before she was able to ask me what I was doing I yelled, "Where's the dog? She said Timmy fell down the well!" By the time my wife caught up to me inside the house she forgot what we were fighting about. So did I lose the fight or not?
